How sitcoms portrayed homosexuality in the 70s and 80s.
I realized during a good amount of television history. That not a lot positive depictions of homosexuals or even homosexuality during the 70s and the 80s all the way up until really golden girl where Clayton let’s his feelings be known to his sister and he tries to make her understand that she needs to adjust to his new lifestyle.
If she doesn’t then he’s telling her that she won’t be a part of his life. I couldn’t imagine being in that situation dealing with a sibling who won’t accept you for you. The anger and pain that sits behind that is very real for those who are apart of the LGBTQ community..
