Decade Diving through sitcoms

As I took a journey through famous sitcom’s over the past few decades to see how not only how the LGBTQ community was originally treated compared to how things are now. A lot of progress has definitely been made specially if you’re looking back to the time frame of the 1960s were being an outwardly homosexual individuals was not only viewed but the aggressive laws in place to keep those that are part of the LGBTQ community not only tucked away from society but shunned ridiculed and hated. The blatant disregard for homosexuals as people was definitely heavily prevalent throughout the 60s to even the 90s. To see how things are changing especially over the past recent years is astonishing. I think the things that make us different is people are the things that makes us great as a society. What am I saying go out and take the time to meet people that are different than you. I’m happy to say for the most part been most people really can’t get away with being outwardly homophobic you have those people that are more closeted with that so I will see that that is changed over the years. A lot more people are shown publicly for being homophobic not to act as if homophobia does not still continuously happen all around the world because it definitely does!! I would like to think we as a society has grown to become more excepting of not only different peoples sexuality but I’d like to think that we are now more open with having the conversation on sexuality as a society. That’s definitely something that I’ve noticed how a lot of people even people that are not only journalist but people who want to step into that field. Along with broadcasters seeing these people say mean and hateful things about people that are a part of the LGBTQ community and that are going into journalism, broadcasting, acting or even music with homophobic views and are completely oblivious to who runs that a entire industry which is the LGBTQ community. They for the most part run the entertainment industry. I think we as people should be more accepting to people of all walks of life…
